Designed by Shigeyuki Mitsui, the creator of the GEL-Lyte III, the GEL-MC Plus is an archival deep cut, circa 1995. The 'MC' stands for motion control, as the shoe's medial midfoot nylon strap reduced overpronation. This hidden gem has been reissued, with a redesigned midsole that utilizes tooling from the GEL-Cumulus, for upgraded cushioning. 

The HS2-S variant incorporates extra slices of archival inspiration, bringing in GEL-Kayano 14 midfoot and heel details, and hints of ASICS' field-leading wrestling shoes, all resulting in a thoroughly modernized arrangement of these retro elements.
