Our new Lagoa jeans are made from raw indigo 12oz selvedge denim. This is a slightly lighter weight than some traditional stiff denims and hence easier to wear in. The style is a relaxed fit with a slight taper so it sits well with boots as well as trainers and shoes.
Typically a yard wide (approx. 91cm), selvedge denim is made on traditional old shuttle looms, which takes time, but produces a tighter woven, hard wearing fabric with a sealed edge, usually with a distinctive red and white stripe. The fabric will mould to your shape and gradually develop individual, unique character over the years. The selvedge runs straight down the outer seam of the leg creating the characteristic shape and a clean ready sealed seam. We’ve also trimmed the coin pocket with the stripe and finished the style with antique brass rivets, a branded pull up leather back patch, and a zip fly with neatly bound internal seams.
